Our client, CMB.TECH is developing several green hydrogen and ammonia initiatives to support the decarbonisation of their fleet. CMB.TECH believes that green ammonia will become a leading sustainable bunker fuel for deep sea shipping. CMB.TECH is currently developing several green hydrogen and ammonia projects in Namibia. Working from their offices in Walvis Bay, an enthusiastic team accomplished their first realization: a hydrogen production facility & refuelling station.

Our client has a vacancy for an HR Generalist in Walvis Bay to join their dynamic and innovative team!

As an HR Generalist, you will provide support for all employee matters, payroll, engagement, recruitment and development. You will also play a role in helping us accelerate our People Strategy by creating and embedding frameworks, structures, policies, and initiatives. This will help create a workplace which engages and motivates staff and offers development and opportunity.

Your responsibility

  • You are responsible for contract management, remuneration & benefits packages &
  • Perform administrative duties for employee relations
  • Proactive recruiting including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference
  • Developing plans for recruitment, training and succession
  • Helping craft policies that will create a company culture that reflects our values
  • You’ll use your positive attitude, HR and OD knowledge and your communication and influencing skills to support our staff and managers:
  • Providing advice to management on employee relations and management issues
  • Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts and disputes, ensuring a fair and constructive resolution for all parties involved.
  • Promote open and transparent communication between employees and management, fostering trust and cooperation.
  • Coaching Line Managers on ways to motivate their employees and lead more effectively / Support line managers in managing employee relations including performance, grievance, disciplinary attendance processes
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees and managers, answering employee inquiries and concerns, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Working with management in their business area to make sure employees have the skills and resources they need to achieve their objectives
  • In particular, you will coach managers in the resolution of people issues and manage a varied employee relations caseload across the breadth of the employee
  • You will report to the local MD and to the Head of HR TECH headquarters Antwerp.

Your profile

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management
  • Extensive knowledge of human resources and Namibian Labour law
  • Knowledge of all relevant laws and regulations (Employment Equity, Social Security, NTA)
  • 5+ years’ experience at HR generalist level including management
  • Strong communication / teamwork skills
  • A passion for improvement and progression
  • You are an active listener as well as an excellent persuader
  • Passionate about professional development
  • Professionalism and an overall positive attitude
  • The ability to motivate and manage staff
  • Organised, methodical with a high attention to detail
  • Interest in understanding the industry and HR trends
